Sump Pump Monitoring Customer Testimonial

“I’m glad I got the Sump Pump Monitoring option.  It went off a few hours ago.  Thanks to the fact that you were prompt with your call, I was able to get home in time to replace the sump pump before I had a flood.  My thanks to Guardian, because I really like that option and your prompt response time really saved my basement.”  Gordon D. – Rochester, MI 4/28/13

Testing Your Alarm Sump Pump Monitor

With the recent heavy rains causing flooding in many of our cities, Guardian would like to remind you that all electronic equipment should be tested regularly.

Sump pump monitors especially need to be tested for proper operation due to the wet environment in the sump pump well.

Your sump pump alarm monitor should resemble one of the examples below. We have included basic instructions on how to test these devices to ensure Guardian will get the alarm signal when your water pumping device fails.

On the blue swing arm switch, raise the arm as high as it will travel. Hold it in that position for five seconds. If the supervisory alarm does not activate the switch needs to be replaced.

On the black float switch, the switch should be hanging in the sump well. Lift the float and change the position of the switch from vertical to horizontal. Hold it in that position for five seconds. If the supervisory alarm does not activate, the switch needs to be replaced.

Please take a moment to test your sump pump monitor using the directions above. If your monitor
appears different than the two examples above, use the directions of the device that most closely
resembles yours.

Call our 24 hour Alarm Monitoring Station at 1-866-883-3100 before you test and our representative will provide further instructions if needed.

If you would like to have a monitor installed for your sump pump, please contact our Customer Service team at 1-800-STAY-OUT (782-9688).
